Wine of the Week 04/15/2018

The Wine

Château de Berne 2017 Rosé (Côtes de Provence)

No fabulous story or intriguing history this week, just a super tasty wine as rosé season approaches; but frankly, you know as well as I do that all seasons are rosé season.

This wine isn't inexpensive, but it's far from expensive. Trust me when I tell you that the extra ten or fifteen bucks that you'll spend beyond what you normally do on an easy drinking rosé is well worth it with this beauty.

Tasting Notes

Very pretty, delicate color. Complex aromas of stone fruit, fresh herbs and intriguing limestone minerality. Flavors of strawberries, peaches and cream, with a nice acidity and backbone of minerality. Wonderful weight. Elegant and delicious.

Suggested Retail Price:  $30

Final Notes:

I know, $30 might seem high for a rosé, but you get what you pay for in this lovely wine.

This wine was tasted at a media preview of the new releases from Château de Berne.
